Overview
Following our previous collaboration with Okende, we were appointed to design their bakery and retail space in West Bridgford.
The brief was to create a clean, Scandinavian-inspired interior that reflected their established brand, while improving the layout to support both customer flow and product display.
Design Approach
The space is designed to feel calm, functional and intuitive to navigate.
A clear and open layout allows products to take focus, with circulation carefully considered to support both everyday use and busier periods. The design balances simplicity with practicality, ensuring the space works efficiently for both staff and customers.
Joinery & Display
Bespoke joinery plays a central role in shaping the interior.
Floating oak display baskets are used to present fresh produce, introducing warmth and texture while maintaining a light and uncluttered feel. Solid timber shelving and multi-use display tables provide flexibility, allowing the space to adapt to different products and uses, including tastings and events.
Each element is designed to support both function and visual clarity, reinforcing the overall material language of the space.
