Overview
Following the success of their coffee shop in Bingham, we were appointed to design their new venture in Radcliffe-on-Trent.
The project involved transforming an empty retail unit into a warm and inviting coffee shop, with a strong focus on spatial efficiency and workflow within a compact footprint.
Spatial Approach
The existing unit, previously used as a sewing shop, required a complete reconfiguration to support its new use.
We developed a layout that integrates a kitchen, coffee bar, retail display and customer seating, carefully balancing back-of-house functionality with front-of-house experience. Every element was considered to maximise the available space, ensuring the café could operate efficiently while remaining comfortable and welcoming for customers.
Particular attention was given to the bar area, where workflow and circulation were optimised to support the day-to-day operation of the business.
Design & Atmosphere
The interior is designed to feel warm, approachable and well-balanced.
A simple material palette and clear layout allow the space to feel open despite its size, while bespoke elements support both function and identity. The design avoids unnecessary complexity, focusing instead on clarity, usability and a welcoming atmosphere.
Delivery
We managed the project from initial concept through to completion, coordinating all trades and services to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery.
Final Outcome
The completed space demonstrates how careful planning and considered design can transform a compact unit into a highly functional and inviting environment.
The coffee shop now supports both efficient day-to-day operation and a comfortable customer experience, contributing positively to the local high street.
