The Limes | Bespoke Interior Design for Bedrooms

Project Overview

At Boyes Design, we were tasked with redesigning three bedrooms at The Limes, a private home in Nottingham. Each room came with a distinct brief, reflecting the unique preferences and requirements of the family. Our goal was to deliver interiors that balanced individuality with a cohesive, modern-chic design language — all while maximising space in rooms with sloped ceilings.

Daughter’s Bedroom

This room was designed as both a cosy retreat and a practical space for everyday use.

  • A nook was transformed into a reading corner, creating a warm, personal feature.

  • A pull-out single bed was integrated to accommodate friends during sleepovers.

  • A desk, dressing table, and wardrobe ensured the room worked for study, storage, and style.

  • The existing bed was seamlessly incorporated into the design, making the space both new and familiar.

Guest Bedroom

The brief was to emulate the ambience of a chic hotel room, offering visiting guests a sense of luxury and comfort.

  • Dark, bold colours were chosen to create a striking atmosphere.

  • Bespoke furniture and lighting details elevated the room beyond standard guest spaces.
The result is a standout interior that feels both welcoming and sophisticated.

Son’s Bedroom

Designed with the needs of a gamer in mind, this bedroom combined fun with functionality.

  • A bespoke desk with space for two screens was created, perfect for gaming and study.

  • Storage and layout were carefully considered to ensure the room felt open and organised despite the sloped ceiling.
The result is a space that balances personality with practicality.

Craftsmanship & Cohesion

Across all three rooms, bespoke furniture was designed and built to maximise every inch of space. Features such as a wardrobe with hidden dressing table, a stained black solid oak desk, and a scalloped oak headboard demonstrate the craftsmanship and attention to detail that define Boyes Design interiors.

Final Outcome

Despite the challenges of sloped ceilings, each bedroom at The Limes now reflects the individuality of its occupant while contributing to the home’s overall sense of style. The project demonstrates how thoughtful interior design and bespoke furniture can transform private spaces into elegant, functional, and personal environments.
